Description

:bulletred: CLOSED SPECIES :bulletred:
if there is enough interest, ill make adoptables and customs and stuff, if not, they are a species only for me and my friends.

instead of doing anything constructive i made a species instead ah

they live in the same world, Zustatek, as the dragon-laska crew so. eh.

LIFE CYCLE
-Eggs are incubated for 6 months then they hatch as small, white hatchlings with no markings or spikes.
-When they reach 1 year of age, their markings begin to develop.
-Depending on the diet, their markings will be of the fruits they eat
-If their diet is 80-100% of one fruit, they will have all of their appearnce and markings based on that fruit. eg, a dragon eats almost all apples, dragon will have markings of an apple. These are rare.
-If their diet is 60-80% of a fruit, they will have mainly the appearance of that fruit and accents of another major fruit. eg, an orange dragon with accents of pineapple. These are common.
-If their diet is 40-60% of a fruit, they will have around the same amounts of two fruits. eg, a durian and mango dragon with equal features of both. These dragons are very uncommon.
-If the diet 0-40% of one fruit, they'll have the features of three to four fruits. These dragons are rare.
-Even rarer are dragons that eat fruits like tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins, the less sweet the less common it will be apart of the dragons diet.
-They live on average from 90-200 years of age.

DIET
-They prefer as hatchlings, to only eat very little diversity, but once they become adults and have their markings, they tend to eat a wider variety of fruits. This makes dragons with multiple fruit markings to be much rarer, as the hatchlings will attach to 1-2 fruits.
-They also eat leaves and flowers of the plants from which the fruits grow. They will often create simple dishes from the fruits, like using sugar and other sweet spices to enchance the flavour.
-They will often dry fruits, as well as culivating honey. They have learnt to farm fruits and will often plant seeds and care for the plants so they may have plently of food to eat for their bunch.
-Other foods they will eat include nuts, vegatables, honey and sugar.

BREEDING
-Some fruit dragons are monogamous with a partner of any gender.
-The word for relationship is mating, and the name for a partner is always matefriend.
-And some are polyamorous with up to 2-4 partners, most of these matings

ANATOMY
-Fruit dragons can stand up on their hind legs and walk bipedal if they wish. Most will walk around on all fours until they feel they need to use their paws to work with. Others will always be bipedal.
-They have a toxic vemon, Cyclobenzaprine, in their fangs. This is produced by their larger appendix breaking down food and fermenting it into the vemon. The vemon can temporialy paraylse any enemies, so that the fruit dragon can run away.
-They are small, from 3-10 ft tall and 4-15 feet long. Some individuals are bigger or smaller than this.

RARE MUTATIONS
-ablinism, where the dragon will only very softly gain markings/colours and physcial properties of the fruit.
-horns, small horns may appear on the dragons head
-flowers, flowers from one or more of the fruits may very rarely grow from a fruit dragon

SOCIAL STRUCTURE
-The dragons live in social groups called "bunches/bunch".
-They are highly intelligent, as they build houses out of fallen trees and caves. They speak their own language, teach others, and look after each other. Their intelligence is somewhat higher than the average human's.
-They are a very peaceful species and hate violence. They used to have wars between the other bunches, but now they communicate peacefully and even have trade routes where dragons will pull a cart of fruit or other produce and the other bunch will offer their own produce in return.
-They live in tropical regions seperated from all other species of dragons and other creatures in the world they live in. This insolation has made them delevop quite differently to the violent and destructive natures of the species that live in more temperate areas.
-Common pass times include art, crafting, collecting, etc.
-All members of a bunch will look after all the other memebers. There is usually 1-3 leaders, a designated doctor, as well as warriors and magic warriors to protect the bunch from larger species of dragon that wish to eat them. Bunches are around 20-100 members in size, all of different families.
-All gender identities and sexualities are accepted by these dragons.
-Some create clothing or accesories and wear it, others don't.

HISTORY
-These dragons used to be all white, and with only venom as their defence. One lucky member of their species descovered crystals that they could use to channel the magical power deep inside the earth. Since then, the dragons have had qualities of fruit and have been able to harness this magic via the crystals that they find in their bunches. They usually share a set of crystals for the whole bunch, with doctors and warriors using most of the crystals. To use this magic, they need to channel almost equal amounts of the two different types of magic (black/white). Simple spells require very little channeling, but more complex ones require a lot and only masters of magic can do it.
